JT's Outdoor Adventures brings you back to basics at Lac McGillivray, near Sheenboro. What began as a private fishing lodge is now a place for families, friends and anglers to make the most of the outdoors.

JT's Outdoor Adventures works with Lac McGillivray Outfitters, a family-owned business run by Tom Hearty and his wife Lucie. Their family has been part of this lake for many years.

That longstanding connection is part of the welcome you'll find at Lac McGillivray.

Cabins include a propane fridge and stove, generator light connections, an outhouse and a private dock. Ask about BBQ, propane tank and generator rentals when you enquire.

Rates shown are per cabin in CAD, before tax. A 20% non-refundable booking deposit is required for cabin rentals. The longer you stay, the better the nightly value. Ask about dates and availability before making plans.

Out here, every day is different

Cast off. Slow down. Stay out.

Bring your own boat and launch at the main lodge, or ask about kayak, aluminum boat, motor and Lund side-console rentals. Every cabin has its own dock.

Fishing licences are available at the main office. Guided fishing trips and shore lunches are available on request. Between casts, there is swimming, paddling, hiking, wildlife and plenty of campfire time.

Black bear hunting.

Head into vast hunting country with baited stands, ATV trails or boat access to hunting locations and guide support. Make a week of it with an off-grid cabin as your base.

$1,250 CAD / person7 days · 6 nights · minimum 2 hunters

Includes accommodation, a baited stand and fishing rights. Guided fishing day add-on: $125. Ask about field dressing and skinning.

Fishing and hunting licences are extra. A 50% non-refundable booking deposit is required for hunts. Cabin rentals require a 20% non-refundable booking deposit.

Justin Lewis

Justin has more than a decade of experience fishing, hunting and living off the land in the Northern Wilds. After discovering Lac McGillivray, he set out to share his fishing and off-grid cabin experience with others. He has been ice fishing in the Ottawa Valley since childhood.
